Part of the Star Pubs Group, The Red Lion pub in Shepperton was looking to drive footfall and awareness of what it had to offer… Next-level food and drinks, a roaring fire, a stunning riverside backdrop – the list goes on.But as a time-stretched hospitality business, posting was inconsistent. It couldn’t harness the power of social media to its fullest. With our experience in foodservice and social media strategy, we were tasked with managing the accounts and building a clear social media strategy and content plan to bring in local (and not so local!) crowds.
For starters, we zoomed in on Star Pubs’ competitor set. To explore the type of content really resonating with people. Next up was creating key content themes to inform and engage!Think weekly menu spotlights to drive interest in current offers. Re-sharing user-generated content to promote awareness and community spirit. Pouring the pub’s personality into its content with spotlights on team members and local suppliers. Stunning photography to showcase the colourful menu and its drinks. And a tailored promotional strategy to build anticipation for pub events.
Our social media marketing strategy consistently upped the pub’s Instagram and Twitter followers every month. And our weekly menu spotlight on its Fish & Chips Stack drove and sustained an extra 50 covers every Friday night.We also achieved around 70 covers a week thanks to the targeted coffee and brunch offer to drive footfall. And reached 18k+ people on Facebook in less than a month for the 2018 Christmas campaign.The cherry on top? Thanks to this success, we were asked to take on the social management of its sister pub, The Golden Grove in Chertsey.
